Home Tips & Tricks Prodigy Technology - Buy or Build Your PC? Pros & Cons For Both Topics

Buy or Build your PC?

All home computers are built by hand; whether it is in a factory, or in the basement. But what makes a computer different when it’s been built in a factory rather than at home?

        PROS

A computer built in a factory is constructed using verified and accepted parts. The workers go through a training program and the computer is guaranteed to work when it arrives at a home. Computers are tested and approved before they’re shipped out. The computer manufacturer gives the option of the standard warranty, or an extended warranty. This lets the owner not worry too much when their computer breaks.

A computer built at home is usually built after the person has researched which parts they want in their computer. There are many parts out there and the person needs to choose which best suits them. The builder determines the quality of their computer and builds a computer that fits his pocket. A home built computer usually comes out to be cheaper than if it were built somewhere else. Parts come with their own warranties.

        CONS

A computer built in a factory uses parts that are not always the highest quality. When a person does run into a problem, they are faced with a possible few weeks without their computer. Computers from factories come preloaded with a good amount of programs that are not useful or are useless and they only take up room and slow down the computer.

A home built computer does not have the warranties available that companies can give. When a problem comes up, it’s up to the builder to fix the problem. Computer quality can vary greatly depending on the budget of the builder. There is also a danger during the construction, something might slip or go wrong and destroy the computer.
